What we collect on this website, what we put on your device, and how to get any of it removed.

Last updated 4 September 2026

The short version

  • We use Google Analytics to count visits and Crisp to run the live chat. Both put cookies on your device.
  • Neither runs until you allow it. We ask when you first arrive, and you can change your answer at any time.
  • If you use the updates form, we get your email address and nothing else.
  • We do not run ads, sell data, or build profiles on visitors.
  • To see or delete what we hold, email privacy@deventral.com.

1. Who we are

Deventral Ltd is the data controller for this website. We are registered in England and Wales, company number 14461518.

This policy is written to the UK GDPR and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR), as amended by the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025.

It covers this website, www.deventral.com, only. Products we link to from here run on their own domains and are not covered by this policy.

2. What we collect

Analytics

Google Analytics 4 records which pages you view, roughly where you are, what device and browser you use, and how you arrived at the site. It uses the two _ga cookies in the table below to tell one visit from another.

Live chat

Crisp runs the chat widget. If you send a message, we receive it along with anything you choose to put in it. Crisp keeps the conversation so it can be shown to you again on a later visit.

The updates form

Your email address, and nothing else. It reaches us as an email sent through Resend — there is no mailing-list database behind it.

What we do not collect

No advertising or remarketing tags run on this site. We do not sell or share data for advertising, and we do not build profiles on visitors.

3. Cookies and storage on your device

Two services can store things on your device. Neither does so unless you allow it — nothing below is written until you accept it.

Cookies and local storage set by deventral.com
Provider Purpose Duration Category
Google Analytics cookie Tells returning browsers apart so visits can be counted 2 years Analytics
Google Analytics cookie Keeps the current analytics session going 2 years Analytics
Crisp cookie Links your browser to your chat session so message history is there when you come back 6 months, extended each time you return Functional
Crisp local storage Holds the same chat session data in browser storage Until you clear site data — local storage does not expire on its own Functional

The cookie durations are the defaults published by Google and Crisp. Your browser may cut them short on its own — Safari, for example, limits cookies written by JavaScript to a few days.

That is the complete list. This site sets no other cookies, uses no session storage and no IndexedDB, and nothing else here writes to your device.

You choose which of these to allow when you first visit, and you can change your mind whenever you like:

Turning a category off deletes what it has already stored. You can also block or delete cookies for this site in your browser's privacy settings, or install Google's Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on to stop Google Analytics collecting anything from you anywhere.

4. Our legal bases

  • Using the analytics data once collected. Legitimate interests — understanding how the site is used so we can improve it. You can object; see your rights.
  • Chat messages. Legitimate interests — answering the question you asked us.
  • Your email address from the updates form. Consent. You gave it to us to receive updates, and you can withdraw it at any time by emailing us.

5. How long we keep things

  • Cookies and local storage. As set out in the table above.
  • Analytics data. Held by Google Analytics for the retention period configured on our property.
  • Chat conversations. Kept in Crisp so a conversation can be picked up where it left off. Ask and we will delete yours.
  • Email addresses from the form. Kept in our inbox until you ask us to remove you.

6. Your rights

Under the UK GDPR you can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or stop our use of it, or hand it over in a portable format. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time.

Email privacy@deventral.com and say what you want. We will reply within one month, and there is no charge. If your request is about analytics data we may ask you for the value of your _ga cookie, because without it we have no way to tell which records are yours.

7. Changes to this policy

We update this page when what we do changes, and we change the date at the top.
